Selezionare negli USA
Ricerca retained o contingency
Domande vietate
Età, stato civile o familiare, gravidanza, religione, origine nazionale, disabilità e, in molti Stati e città, retribuzione passata o precedenti penali prima dell'offerta.
Background check

Hiring models, the recruitment process, and the legal rules that apply before day one.
How recruitment works
Retained vs. contingency search
Retained search firms run exclusive, confidential senior searches with fees paid in stages. Contingency recruiters are paid only when you hire. Fees are commonly calculated as a percentage of first-year cash compensation.
Job descriptions
U.S. candidates expect a clear mission, outcomes for year one, reporting line, salary range (mandatory in many states), benefits and flexibility. Avoid age, gender or nationality preferences.
Structured interviews
Use the same questions and a scorecard for every candidate. It improves decisions and reduces legal risk. Keep the process to 3 to 4 steps.
Questions you cannot ask
Age, marital or family status, pregnancy, religion, national origin, disability, and in many states and cities, salary history or criminal history before an offer.
Background checks
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you need written consent, and specific pre-adverse and adverse action notices before rejecting someone based on a report.
AI in hiring
Using AI to screen or rank candidates triggers rules in New York City (bias audits), Illinois (notice, from 2026), California (anti-discrimination regulations, from October 2025) and Colorado (from 2027).
